About the
European Rolfing Association (ERA)

Who We Are

We are a non-profit organisation, based in Munich formed in 1991 for the benefit of all certified Rolfers practicing in Europe. As a service organisation we offer representation on behalf of our members.

What We Do

We provide representation of all our members for the mutual benefit of the health conscious public and practicing Rolfers. We market ourselves to the widest possible audience and are currently engaged in four key missions.

Icon While actively maintaining development, training and scientific co-operation with our American parent organisation, we seek independence as a semi-independent institute.

Icon We seek an enhanced level of flexibility within the ERA education system, supported by an independent European faculty. We aim to extend our training options, including teaching in local languages, while ensuring our exceptional standards are maintained.

Icon We are engaging in a strategic marketing and communications programme to promote Rolfing as an outstanding contributor to the growing and increasingly important holistic and preventative health field.

Icon We continue to operate for the benefit of our members as a service organisation. We guide, educate, and offer practical advice. The establishment of networking, mentoring and supervision systems are measures to assist us in maintaining and exceeding the high standards expected of Rolfing practitioners and clients worldwide.

At the core of our vision
is an aligned human being,
graceful in posture and
movement.

Our contribution to the
realization of this vision
is the freeing of restrictive
patterns of tension
in the connective tissue
by a sensitive yet decisive
touch.

The goals of Rolfing are
to integrate the human
structure within the field
of gravity through the
manipulation of the
fascial system and to
enhance the physical
and perceptual capacities
of the human being.
